There are 3 aviation coins in this gift set. What you see in the pictures is what you get.
Each aviation celebrity coin represents the history of the famous people in aviation industry. The short biographies included with the coins are described as follows:
Daniel Bernoulli (Groningen, February 8, 1700 - Basel, March 17, 1782) contributed to oceanography and astronomy as well as mathematics but is best known for his work in physics. He established Bernoulli's principle - A fluid produces less pressure as its velocity increases, an effect that provides much of the lift for airplanes.
Wright Brothers, Orville (August 19, 1871 - January 30, 1948) and Wilbur (April 16 1867 - May 30, 1912), were two Americans generally credited with building the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled, powered and heavier-than-air human flight on December 17 1903. The brothers' fundamental breakthrough was their invention of "three axis-control", which enabled the pilot to steer the aircraft effectively and to maintain its equilibrium. This method has become standard on fixed wing aircraft of all kinds.
Carl Gustaf Patrik De Laval (Sweden, May 9, 1845 - Stockholm, February 2, 1913), Swedish scientist, engineer, and inventor who pioneered the development of high-speed turbines. He invented de Laval nozzle (or convergent-divergent nozzle), which is used as a means of accelerating the flow of a gas passing through it to a supersonic speed. It is an essential part of the modern rocket.
