The most important weapon and sense that a law enforcer or soldier should have is the sense of sight.  The performance of these public servants will be greatly affected if their sight is impaired.  Unfortunately, a significant percentage of injuries incurred by participants during combat operations involve eye damage.  Shrapnel is the most common cause for these eye injuries.  If you handle any kind of firearm, even if it is only for leisure, you should protect yourself by using eye protection glasses or goggles.
