Brunton started out in 1894 when D.W. Brunton, a avid outdoorsman and geologist turned inventor, started to design equipment for outdoor professionals. He focused on creating lightweight gear with the maximum durability. This ingenuity brought his unique products to the forefront of American outdoor equipment.

Brunton still develops products using the same philosophy. Designers are all living a outdoor lifestyle and also the users of the outdoor equipment that they design, therefore having a better understanding of the products at a users’ point of view.

It has also taken shape as a brand for the avid adventurer. They have been developing and producing innovative backpacking and camping equipment, optics, and are pioneering a new category called personal power, which includes power storage devices and flexible solar panels for adventurers.
