A hook is a very useful tool that we often take for granted. We have one in just about any room in our house, holding towels, a photo, or any other object that we deem worthy of hanging. But as useful as hooks are, we are often not that good in placing hooks in the right places. We often end up with nicely placed hooks that we never use, or no hooks in places where we need them. Most “DIY” people just place new hooks where they need them and taking out the ones they don’t need, often leaving unsightly holes.
The 3M command Hook with Command Adhesive Strips are the most efficient solution to the problem of hook placement. This nifty little device has been a favorite in dorm rooms for quite some time because of the quick and easy placement and relative high load capacity. A single package comes with 2 hooks and 4 adhesive command strips so that you can reposition the hooks in case you want to. You might be doubtful about how strong these things are, after all, you’d be hanging stuff from it. The command adhesive strip is rated to hold up to 1lb of weight which is perfect for a great majority of things that are hung on walls. You can use this to hang washcloths, small pictures, and even little air fresheners, the possibilities are almost limitless.

This device is also pretty handy to have around the house even if you still rely fully on those heavy duty hooks. Calling a carpenter just to place a single hook, no matter how convenient it is, is just a waste. Instead of pounding a new hook there yourself and probably end up destroying your wall, you can place the 3M on areas where you want solid hooks put in as a temporary remedy. Once you need a carpenter for something bigger, you can just ask them to replace the 3M hooks with metal ones. This way, you can use the 3M hooks for the meantime and when it’s time to replace them, you already have the markers on where you want the metal hooks put in.
Sometimes we think that we need a hook somewhere but later realize that it isn’t really that much use to you. If you had a metal hook put in or you placed it yourself, removing it would usually leave a nasty hole right there. If you used the 3M hooks, removing it would leave absolutely nothing on it. This gives you the peace of mind when putting new hooks in areas where people might see them.

You can use the 3M small hooks in almost any surface. It would stick to wood concrete and even tile. The benefit of these hooks are very apparent on tiles as going “DIY” on it could cause it to break and cost you even more in repairs. Just remember to not use these hooks on wallpaper or any other weak surface. Because no matter how strong the adhesive strips are, the paper would just tear and the hook would fall.
