It started from this headband

Have you ever found yourself suddenly in the dark – such as power cut at home or your car stopping in the middle of a poorly lighted street or dropped something in a movie theater?  Certainly, at one point or another, you have tried to see in the dark or look for something in the dark with the use of a flashlight.  However, what if you need both your hands to fix something while in the dark? How do you hold the flashlight and fix your car engine or a faulty wiring at the same time. Some people were smart enough to get a headband holder flashlight for times like these and Nite Ize have been manufacturing these products for over 20 years now.

The Headband Mini Flashlight Holder was actually the reason why the company was started in 1989 by company President, Rick Case.  He was a University of Colorado undergraduate at the time and the idea hit him while he was on a fishing trip one night.  He was fishing in the dead of night, holding a flashlight with his mouth.  As he was bound to do, he instinctively opened his mouth and the flashlight fell into the water.  That was when he thought a headband holder for a mini flashlight would have been handy.

Rick Case built his company out passion, creativity and perseverance.  He knew his business was starting to take off when he received his first order of 42,000 headbands, while running the company in his Colorado mountain cabin.  From then on, Nite Ize diversified into manufacturing all sorts of flashlight accessories such as flashlight holsters that can be attached to belt or leg, Lite Bites – that enables us to grip flashlight with our mouth and free our hands, Grip ‘N Clips, Lite Rings and many others. Are there small area where light can’t shine in such as deep but rather small hole? Nite Ize has Fiber Optic Adapter that makes light ‘bend’ and shine those area. These accessories give us many ways to hold flashlight and carry it around comfortably and conveniently. With this, the company continues to diversify and its facilities in scenic Boulder, Colorado also continue to make room for the production of many other innovative products.

As part of its expansion goals, Nite Ize has just acquired the LED light brand, INOVA, from the Emissive Energy Corp. this year.  INOVA is an industry leader because of its performance, excellence in design, technology and engineering.

Driving is a necessity in today’s fast-paced living. A lot of car manufacturers have integrated into their car designs and technology features that could help save lives. However, no matter how technically safe and sound your car is, if you yourself do not practice safe driving, you could be putting yourself and your passengers in danger. Accidents happen because of mistakes. Here are some mistakes that you are prone to commit.

Admit it. You think you are the world’s greatest driver. Overconfidence has made you ignore basic safety rules such as: following speed limits; safety checking the car; wearing seatbelt; obeying traffic rules such as keeping right (or left, depending on your country) when driving fast or when overtaking. It is best to recognize your susceptibility to accidents and observe all traffic and driving rules.

Because you think you’re one heck of a driver, you don’t pay much attention to your personal condition when driving. What are these conditions then? One, you have chug in a few beers or some alcoholic beverage and you think you can still drive home. Be realistic! If you are driving, then don’t drink more than the allowed legal limit. Multi-tasking has become synonymous to a positive characteristic. Isn’t it great that you can actually watch television and read a book at the same time? Doesn’t it save you precious time that you can tall business over the phone while you tap on your laptop? Well then, don’t bring in your multi-tasking ability when driving a car! Drive. Just drive. Stop yourself from making calls or worse, texting, when driving. There are actually cars that are equipped with car TVs and/or portable DVD players right smack in the drivers’ seat! Think, how can you watch TV and drive at the same time. If you need to watch, then stop the car and park somewhere.

Main cause of accidents are always due to distractions

Have you had your share of drivers at an intersection beating the red light? Yes, a lot of car accidents have occurred because of drivers beating the red light or making a full stop at an intersection or a cross-road. Sure, you don’t beat red lights and you do make full stops. However, how sure are you that there won’t be one driver at the next intersection? The deal here is that don’t assume that because the signal light is green it’s an actual “go” for you. Look left and right before you drive through an intersection. Don’t trust other drivers to do the right thing. Drive defensibly.

Firstly.

Remember those times where you’ve tried reaching your ruler or whichever tool into one of those tight hard-to-reach areas trying to fix something in there or just get your coin out, but it’s so dark and you can’t see where or what’s in there, and no matter how you position your lighting, you just can’t seem to get your light in there. We’ve also brought in one of those Nite Ize IQ switch, apparently this Nite Ize maglite screw it on your AA Mini Maglite and you can adjust your light intensity t0, shows on the cover 100%, 50%, 25% and some flashy lights. I think it’s supposed to flash. Anyway, it’s supposed to extend your battery life by being able to adjust your light intensity to a lower level when you don’t need too bright of a light.
