Wireless Music System That Delivers Pure Audio

Recently we posted about Creative Inspire S2 Wireless 2.1 here. This ZiiSound D5 adapts Inspire S2 award-winning Bluetooth technology into a better wireless audio system. Measuring at 42.5 x 11 x 9cm, it is basically a rectangular box design that appears lifted at an angle. The body is covered in mesh fabric, with both right and left end sides in metal plates. At the center of the box is a band where the touch controls reside – the volume and “connect” controls.

ZiiSound D5 main advantages are its high quality technology coupled with compactness in sleek contemporary design that helps you save space without having to compromise style and quality bass audio. The music system incorporates efficient bass port at the sides of speaker so you don’t need to get that separated subwoofer.

Although geared towards an iPod / iPhone / iPad (any Apple devices with dock connector) speaker dock, it can also be paired with Bluetooth enabled device, so your notebook and mobile phones could be used with ZiiSound too. It is fully wireless.

There are two modes to control the volume. The first one is using the subtle touch surface on the unit’s top, at the center, that lets you change the volume. The second method is by using the included Bluetooth transmitter with the iPod, iPhone, or iPad, so that they can control speaker’s audio and volume wirelessly. With the transmitter attached, you can also plug an iPhone or iPod into the aforementioned dock for charging purposes. While docking, the device will appear to float above the surface of the speaker. It is such a pretty sight.

Beside being a remote control, the Bluetooth transmitter empowers your Apple Device with “freedom of movement” as it no longer needs to be physically docked to the system to enjoy your music. It also gives ease of use as you simply need to switch on the speakers, plug the transmitter into your iPod, and that is it, connection instantly made.

The D5 does a good job of projecting your music into the room, giving a wider sound stage than you might expect and with punchy bass giving depth to tracks where lesser iPod docks can be found lacking.

It is so tiny

The Inspire S2′s cube-shaped subwoofer measure at 23.2 cm x 18 cm x 20 cm and it is compact enough to be placed neatly on or under your desk. The subwoofer tower is black while the two tiny satellites are white with black cloth grille covers. The satellites are so small you’ll barely notice them sitting on a desk.

On the right speaker, there are a headphone and an auxiliary input for connecting other audio devices such as music phones or portable video players. There’s also a power button and volume controls that double as the Bluetooth pairing buttons: you hold down the volume up button for a few seconds to put the speakers in pairing mode.

Right satellite inputs and buttons

Although it is wireless, the satellites are still connected to the subwoofer using the supplied cable. The wireless capability comes from the connection between the speaker system and your bluetooth device.  Place the speakers in a fixed location and connect your laptop to the speakers with the USB Bluetooth transmitter and get the freedom of moving your laptop around the room, without having to be tied down by your speakers. Being bluetooth speakers also means you can pair many mobile phones and even iPhone and iPod Touch to the speakers to enjoy louder bass audio. You could adjust the bass level with a knob at the back of the subwoofer to fit your bass needs.

Overall this is a compact bluetooth speakers system that you may find as a good value for money. Despite its relatively small size its audio power and quality does not dissapoint.

Christmas is just around the corner.  The malls are getting overcrowded with shoppers, there are Christmas parties left and right, the holiday wishes cards start trickling in and the traffic has gotten horrendous.  If you have not done any of your gifts shopping yet, then you must be stressing out or worrying about it.  Unless you have consciously done your shopping early and if you are fortunate enough to have the budget, gifts shopping should be done way before the first day of December.

Of course, most of us cannot afford to do that.  So when December comes, we wrack our brains thinking about which gifts to give whoever.  If you are dead set on giving somebody you know some kind of gadget for Christmas, then let this guide help you choose which ones would be the best choices.
