Christmas is just around the corner.  The malls are getting overcrowded with shoppers, there are Christmas parties left and right, the holiday wishes cards start trickling in and the traffic has gotten horrendous.  If you have not done any of your gifts shopping yet, then you must be stressing out or worrying about it.  Unless you have consciously done your shopping early and if you are fortunate enough to have the budget, gifts shopping should be done way before the first day of December.

Video game consoles will always be one of the top gadget gift options at any given time.  There are at least three kinds that dominate the market at the moment: PlayStation, Nintendo Wii and Xbox.  Wii is a good choice of console for the casual gamer who likes having visitors over, as it is a social gaming console.  Because of its motion sensor games, players who use Wii are forced to move about and get a bit of exercise.  PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, on the other hand, are more like the traditional gaming consoles, except that their graphics have gone on overdrive.  There is an ongoing debate as to which one of them is better than the other, but it all just boils down to preference.

Photography enthusiasts are spoilt for choice when it comes to digital camera options.

Panasonic’s Lumix DMC TS1 is the company’s first attempt at producing a shock-proof/waterproof compact camera.  It is waterproof for up to 10 feet in depth, dustproof and shock-proof from up to 5 feet.  It is not as shock-proof or as impervious to elements compared to other brand models.  However, it was still a relative success.

The classic iPod is still available but not in its original form, as a lot of extra features have been added to it. Although the classic iPods has everything that you need in a portable media player, it doesn’t really fit very well when you are jogging. For this, the shuffle seems like a custom fit. It’s small and compact form fits very well inside your pocket or on your arm. With up to 4GB of storage which translates to a thousand songs, you are sure to have an ample supply of songs when you are outside. Even though it is quite small, it still packs an ample amount of battery power as you can continuously play music up to 10 hours. Even the strongest ironman would be hard pressed to run out of battery in a single run.

The Nano is a product that is somewhere between the classic and the shuffle. It is still packed with the same features of the classic but reduced to fit the smaller size and smaller budget. It has a 2.2 inch screen and up to 16GB of memory where you can store songs, videos, and pictures. Its small size means that it fits in most people’s pockets and it is a great device to carry around so that you have something to listen to when you are in the bus or the train. The iPod Nano 4th generation also comes with a video camera at the back that allows you to shoot videos with whenever you want.

It is quite easy to choose between these three devices as they are clearly cut for certain roles. But even if they still generally serve the same purpose, some people buy one of each so that they always have an iPod no matter what they are doing.
