Christmas is one of the rare times of the year when we think of others more than we think of ourselves. During this time, we are consumed about what gifts we could give or how we are going to express our love or appreciation to our friends and relatives. We are so selfless at this time that we brave the traffic and the crowds in the malls to buy gifts and trinkets to give away.
Sometimes, though, we get stumped. We get confused and do not know what to get. This is especially so if you are buying gifts for the opposite sex, as you are never quite sure what they would like to have for Christmas.
Chocolate
Buying gifts for women can be a little tricky at times. You will have to consider your relationship with the woman, their personality and their interests when it comes to buying gifts for them. Obviously, you want to give them something that they will appreciate and use.
Jewelry for loved ones
Getting women expensive jewelry like necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings are usually appreciated. But only give these to women that are close to you, especially if you are a man. Men giving women jewelry is a sign of courtship or intimacy, so be careful not to send the wrong message across. Save giving jewelry to your wife, mother or girlfriend and not to women you only intend to be friends with.
Perfume – intimate gift
Perfume, much like jewelry, is also an intimate gift. Follow the same guidelines as jewelry when giving away perfume to women during Christmas. You may also need to consider your recipient’s personality when giving perfume as gifts. For example, a mature woman may not appreciate a scent that smells too sporty or fruity.
Personal grooming
If your gift recipient makes it a point to look good at all times, then they will certainly appreciate a gift that will help them with personal grooming. This will be appropriate for women that always have spotless skin, are perfectly made up or those that never seem to have a bad hair day. A lighted vanity mirror may be a good choice to give them. They will find it easier to apply makeup if they can clearly see their shadow-less faces in the mirror.
For the sporty
Not all women are fond of makeup, of course. What do you give those that are not? If your recipient likes sports or is the kind of woman who always tries to get time to work out and keep fit, then some gym or sporting accessories may be welcome. Good examples of these would be a new gym bag or a pedometer. Have a look around a sporting goods shop to get some ideas.
For the Sweet tooth
If you want something generic to give those women who you do not know very well, then a box of sweets may just do the trick. Most women will not be able to resist a box of chocolate truffles or assorted chocolates, unless they are allergic or do not like chocolate. These are so versatile and is something to can give to either a child or an adult.
