One of the aftermaths of World War II was unparalleled boom in population. Thus the term baby boomer was coined. Born between the years 1946 to 1965, this lot has redefined and remodeled society by its sheer volume. As a group, the baby boomers are the wealthiest and most influential. Fast forward to X.

The term X was coined to apply to those born after the baby boom, roughly between the years 1965 to 1979. In some books, Gen X is inclusive of the years 1961 to 1981, often called the 13th Generation in the US for it is indeed the 13th generation familiar with the United States flag. Population explosion was momentarily curtailed particularly in 1970.
